BMW has inspired many fans to take to motorsport with its range of vehicles, especially its classics. Through two world wars and countless other calamities, BMW persevered and grew stronger to introduce its first SUV, the BMW X5, in 1999. Two decades down the road, the BMW X5 series is well established with four generations of mid-sized luxury SUVs and countless special models. For the 2022 model year, BMW introduced a limited edition model for those who truly want to stand out, called the Black Vermillion Edition. Approximately 350 units were produced for the US market, and today is your chance to own one.

The Black Vermillion Edition gives the 2022 BMW X5 an aggressive look with its interplay of black and red. The front features a BMW Shadowline high-gloss black kidney grille with red vertical bars, while the rest of the X5 is draped in BMW Individual Frozen Black Metallic paint. The headlights are darkened M Shadowline Adaptive LEDs with the Laserlight in a blue X design. The front and rear bumpers are aggressively styled and done in M high-gloss extended Shadowline exterior trim. It sits on 22” double-spoke light alloy wheels with an exclusive Orbit Grey matt finish, behind which lurk red high-gloss M Sport brake calipers. Following the exterior design cue, the interior is done in Full Merino black leather with contrasting red piping and contrast stitching for the seats. The Edition logo on the cupholder cover is only available on the Black Vermilion Edition and painted in BMW Individual Piano Black. The iDrive Controller, automatic gear selector, and the Start/Stop button are done in finely crafted glass. The Premium Package adds remote engine start, head-up display, and gesture controls.

The heart of the 2022 BMW X5 Black Vermilion Edition xDrive40i is the 3.0L turbocharged straight-6 engine with a 48V mild hybrid system mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. Power output is rated at 329hp along with 332 lb.ft of torque. 0-60 mph is clocked in at 5.7 seconds. The M Sport exhaust system is in place along with Adaptive M Suspension. A suite of driver assistance options is available, such as front collision warning with city collision mitigation, lane departure warning, park distance control, and more. Safe to say, this X5 comes equipped with style and performance.
